Portland Street
UTTERLY URBAN STROLL
WALK 8
GO BIG OR STAY HOME!

MINDSET: When you are in a "Go big or go home" state of mind and want to feel utterly urban.
7,845 steps (5.1 km, 1 hr 20)

Have you noticed all the large pieces of public art in unexpected places? it's due to the special Percent for Public Art Program established by the City of Toronto in 2020, which requires that Toronto developers allocate 1% of the gross cost of their development to public art.
My favourite is the huge bobbers in Canoe Landing Park off Fort York Blvd, but there's enough public art in the area to make this walk amidst over-towering condos an intriguing one worth the detour. King & Portland intersection is more vibrant than ever with all the restaurants, bars and cafés supported by the influx of condo dwellers. The Stackt Maket, The Bentway and Graffiti Alley bring their colourful vibe to the area.
